Each and every child at Oakwell Rise is part of a house and these are: red, blue, green or yellow. Being part of a whole school house helps to develop a real sense of community and allows children across school to work together. Children can earn house points at any point throughout the day; when they are spotted following the Oakwell Promise.
The Oakwell Promise
Each week the house points from each class are collected and added to the main house point tubes in the hall, so that children can see who is currently in the lead that half term. At the end of each half term, all of the house points from across school are counted.
Children come together in their teams, with their peers from across school each half-term and participate in fun competitions between each house. The house competitions give children the opportunity to develop resilience, work as part of a team and develop their sense of community. Excitingly, the winning team from each key stage also win an additional 100 points for their team to add to their half termly total.

Their rewards are a fun day for all …the children certainly enjoy both the competition and the reward.
